Try the demo
A working copy of BastraLekha, open to anyone, with the invented books of Kalinga Looms — a two-outlet weavers' cooperative with a head office, an exhibition stall at Dilli Haat, and six weeks of trading already recorded.
Say who it is for
The demo opens by asking who is being shown around. It then shows only what that kind of business would switch on, and offers the sign-ins that suit it.
- Small shop — a single saree or cloth shop: billing, stock, customers and reports, with two roles, the owner and counter staff.
- Growing shop — a few branches: purchase bills and orders, transfers between branches, the full accounts, GST returns and the audit trail.
- Cooperative or federation — everything: job work with weavers, Handloom Mark labels, government rebates, the Marketing Incentive, expos and GeM, with head-office and outlet roles.
Pick a role
Each sign-in is listed on the demo's own sign-in page with its username, its password and a line on what it is worth showing — the owner who runs the shop, the counter that only bills, the head-office accountant who closes the books, the auditor who can read everything and change nothing. One click fills the form; nothing has to be typed from memory.
The organisation code is KALINGA. Two people can demonstrate two kinds of business from the same data at the same time, because the choice belongs to the sign-in and not to the organisation.
Worth trying
- Take a bill at the till — scan or search a saree, split the payment between cash and UPI, and print the 80 mm receipt.
- Take it back — return part of that bill as a credit note, refund it or keep it on the customer's account, and then cancel the note if it was taken in error.
- Look at the books it wrote — the voucher behind the bill, the customer's ledger, the day's takings.
- Prepare GSTR-1 for a month and download the portal's JSON.
- Switch features on and off under Settings → Features, and watch the menus follow.
About the data
Everything in the demo is invented — the cooperative, its outlets, its weavers, its customers and every rupee. It is reset from time to time, so anything entered during a demonstration is temporary and nothing entered there should be real. A trial with your own data starts on the sign-up page: 30 days free, nothing to pay to begin.
